About

Two people who couldn’t ignore this.

AI Citizen didn’t start as a business plan. It started as two people, coming at the same problem from different directions, who both concluded that no one else was taking it seriously enough.

Tony Cuthbertson

Co-founder

Tony spends his days in schools, working directly with young people aged 11 to 18 as a mental health coach – watching, up close, how the pressures on this generation are changing.

At the same time, he runs Shooglebox, a company built around AI at its core, which means the gap between how young people are being prepared for an AI-shaped world and how AI is actually reshaping work in real time isn’t theoretical. It’s something he sees from both sides, every week. AI Citizen exists because that gap became impossible to keep ignoring.

James Geary

Co-founder

James founded PitchView, an AI-first company where AI runs through the product and the way the business operates, and works as a consultant helping established UK businesses put AI to work.

That puts him on the other side of the same gap: watching, week by week, how quickly AI is changing what work looks like and what employers will expect from the people who arrive next. He brings that commercial reality into AI Citizen, along with a builder’s impatience with waiting for the system to catch up.

Why Bradford

This work started in a school in Bradford, in a city with its own history of confronting seismic shifts in society rather than waiting them out. That isn’t incidental – it’s part of why this had to start here rather than somewhere more obvious.

The claim
Other people are thinking about this too. We believe we’re among the first actually building it.

The claim

We believe AI Citizen is among the first initiatives of its kind in Europe to take this on as a sustained, structured piece of work – not a one-off talk or a toolkit, but an ongoing programme built around identity and judgement, not just technical skill.
